Schindler reports strong order growth and increased revenue
Schindler has reported significant growth in its new installation business during the first nine months of 2026, with new orders reaching 8.74 billion Swiss francs. This represents a 5.2 percent increase in local currencies compared to the previous year. The third quarter specifically saw a 10.3 percent surge in order intake, nearly doubling analyst expectations.
Growth in new installations was driven by double-digit increases in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region (excluding China). The Americas saw growth between 5 and 10 percent, while the decline in the Chinese market has begun to slow. In the modernization segment, orders rose by over 10 percent globally, with the exception of the Americas, which experienced a decline of over 10 percent.
The company’s performance has been bolstered by a weakening Swiss franc, which had previously pressured results, and the implementation of a new modular product platform. While the service business saw slight growth, the company's order backlog is now at its highest level in two years. Additionally, Schindler has expressed interest in potential acquisitions resulting from the planned merger between competitors Kone and TK Elevator.
