Schlitz Kulturhalle receives new building permit with noise restrictions
The city of Schlitz has received a new building permit for the Kulturhalle located in the Hahnekiez area. This follows a ruling by the Administrative Court in Gießen, which had overturned the original 2022 permit due to insufficient noise protection regulations.
Rather than pursuing further legal appeals, the Vogelsbergkreis district administration has opted for a pragmatic solution to support the development of the area and maintain community harmony. The new permit incorporates the court's requirements, specifically regarding noise emission limits. Daytime noise must not exceed 60 decibels (6:00 to 22:00), and nighttime noise must remain below 45 decibels (22:00 to 6:00).
Exceptions to these limits are permitted for up to ten days per year during rare events, provided they are reported to the regulatory office and do not occur on more than two consecutive weekends. During such events, additional measures such as closing windows and doors by 22:00 and providing on-site security personnel are required. A logbook of events must also be maintained for inspection by the building supervisory authority.
