Schloss Wiesentfels Hosts Summer Theater Weekend; Bayreuth Festspiele Features Wagner Lectures

The Fränkische Theatersommer will stage a two‑day open‑air program at Schloss Wiesentfels on 7‑8 August 2026. Friday’s opening performance is the musical "Marilyn Monroe – What a Beautiful Dream," a biographical piece about the iconic actress, followed on Saturday by the comedy "Die Geliebte meines Mannes," both presented in the historic castle courtyard.

During the Bayreuth Festspiele, pianist and musicologist Hans Martin Gräbner will lead a series of one‑hour work‑introductions in the Rokokosaal of the Steingraeber house. Using a Liszt‑flügel, he will explore the plots and musical highlights of Wagner’s operas, offering insight independent of current productions. The sessions are open to the public for €18 and do not require a Festspiele ticket.
