Schneeberg, Quedlinburg and Lehesten featured in German weekend guide

The MDR Kultur program offers weekend recommendations for three locations in eastern Germany. In Schneeberg, visitors can explore the historic Siebenschlehener Pochwerk, a former cobalt‑ore processing site now serving as a museum that demonstrates water‑driven stamping machines and hosts local art events. Quedlinburg’s Feininger Museum presents the exhibition “Vier machen blau,” showcasing works by Lyonel Feininger, Wassily Kandinsky, Alexej von Jawlensky and Paul Klee, with a family day scheduled for the following Sunday. In the Thuringian village of Lehesten, the Schieferpark provides a nature trail through former slate‑mining landscapes, where guided tours teach participants how to collect and process slate fragments. The guide also highlights the medieval town of Tangermünde as a scenic side trip. All suggestions are aimed at visitors seeking cultural and natural experiences over the weekend.
