Schneider Electric acquires Al-Maisan to expand Saudi engineering capabilities

Schneider Electric has completed the acquisition of Al-Maisan Technical Services Limited (MTS), a Jeddah-based Saudi engineering firm specializing in control and automation systems for smart and sustainable buildings. This strategic move aims to bolster Schneider Electric’s local engineering capabilities in design, installation, and maintenance, particularly within the Kingdom’s western region.

In addition to the acquisition, Mohammed Shaheen, CEO for Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bahrain, and Yemen, announced that Schneider Electric has invested between 200 and 250 million riyals over the last three years to localize industry and increase production capacity. The company has expanded its local manufacturing to include over 20 products labeled ‘Made in Saudi Arabia,’ adding approximately 20 new production lines in its Riyadh and Dammam factories.

The company is focusing on high-growth sectors such as data centers, smart buildings, and critical infrastructure to meet the demands of Saudi Vision 2030 and upcoming major events like Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.
