Pegatron and Schneider Electric announce major industrial expansions in Mexico

Major industrial expansions are underway in Mexico, driven by the demand for semiconductors, electromobility, and data center infrastructure.

In Chihuahua, Pegatron Corporation has announced a $330 million investment to establish a specialized plant in Ciudad Juárez between 2026 and 2029. The project aims to manufacture electronic components for electromobility and data centers, creating approximately 1,000 high-value jobs and strengthening the region's role in the global semiconductor supply chain.

In Querétaro, Schneider Electric is expanding its manufacturing capacity with three industrial facilities totaling 115,000 square meters. These plants will produce electrical distribution solutions and critical energy infrastructure, with projections to create 4,000 direct jobs and 8,000 indirect jobs by the end of 2027. Additionally, Johnson Controls has inaugurated a new Service Center in the state to support the growing data center sector, which currently accounts for a significant portion of Mexico's installed capacity.
