Schneider Electric to acquire PTC for $22.6 billion

Schneider Electric has agreed to acquire parametric CAD pioneer PTC for $22.6 billion. The deal, expected to close by the third quarter of 2027, aims to establish a next-generation industrial AI ‘digital thread’ by combining Schneider’s energy management expertise with PTC’s engineering software portfolio, including Creo, Onshape, and PLM solutions.

In a separate development, the United States Air Force has renewed its contract with PTC for the Servigistics service supply chain optimization solution. As part of the ESCAPE program, the Air Force will continue using the platform to enhance aircraft readiness through advanced demand forecasting, machine learning, and AI-driven decision-making to manage complex global supply networks.
