Schoenstatt Movement concludes novena with themes of faith

The Schoenstatt Movement is conducting a novena focused on themes of devotion and faithfulness. The eighth day of the novena highlighted the life of Mario Hiriart, a Chilean university professor and co-founder of the Schoenstatt Male Youth. Hiriart is noted for his commitment to living a life of sanctity through faith, work, and service, even while facing serious illness.

The ninth and final day of the novena centered on maintaining fidelity during trials. It featured the example of Father Franz Reinisch, a Palotian priest and martyr who refused to swear allegiance to Adolf Hitler, choosing instead to remain faithful to his conscience and faith. The novena concludes with a call for participants to renew their ‘Covenant of Love’ on October 18.
