School construction projects approved in Waghäusel and Waldsassen, Germany
The town of Waghäusel is investing €36 million in a new education centre, including €14 million for a new Gemeinschaftsschule building and €11 million of federal and state funding. The facilities, scheduled for use in the 2025/26 school year, also include a renovated Johann‑Peter‑Hebel‑Realschule with modern classrooms, a cafeteria and sports areas. The local SPD praised the project as a commitment to equal educational opportunities.
In Waldsassen, the Markgraf‑Diepold‑Grundschule will become a construction site from the autumn of the next year. The plan involves extensive rebuilding of the school’s premises, including the auditorium known as the "Diepoldeum" and surrounding facilities, as described from a nearby bus stop view.
