School disruptions reported in Guarulhos and Rodrigues Alves

Educational services in different Brazilian regions have faced disruptions due to resource shortages and labor disputes. In Guarulhos, parents reported that classes at EPG Jean Piaget were interrupted on September 16 and 17 due to a lack of food supplies and cooking gas. However, the Guarulhos Secretariat of Education denied that classes were suspended or that there was a shortage of school meals, stating that food had been prepared and served before a gas supply interruption occurred on September 15.

In Rodrigues Alves, four state schools—Cunha Vasconcelos, Francisco Braga de Souza, Nunes Correia, and Felicíssimo Negreiros—suspended classes following a strike by outsourced support staff. The workers, responsible for cleaning, meal preparation, and school transport, halted activities due to unpaid wages and food vouchers, with some payments reportedly delayed by up to four months. School administrations stated that without cleaning and support services, they are unable to maintain a normal routine.
