School Feeding Programs in Colombia and Peru Remain Operational

In Girardot, Colombia, the Unidad Administrativa Especial de Alimentación Escolar – Alimentos para Aprender (UApA) held a working meeting with local education and health officials. Director Sebastián Rivera Ariza assured that the school feeding program (PAE) will continue without suspension while investigations into the seizure of about 500 kg of meat, suspected of labeling errors, are ongoing.

In Lauricocha, Peru, the municipal government delivered kitchen equipment kits—including stoves, pots, and utensils—to two early‑education centers as part of the national Programa de Alimentación Escolar (PAE). The delivery, highlighted by Eli Luna Japan of the Huánuco territorial unit, aims to improve food preparation conditions and support nutritious meals for students.

Both actions demonstrate ongoing efforts by the respective authorities to maintain and strengthen school nutrition services despite challenges.
