School infrastructure projects resume after significant delays

Construction projects have resumed at two different educational institutions following significant delays.

In the Dominican Republic, the Dirección de Infraestructura Escolar has restarted pending works at the Escuela Profesor Juan Bosch in Los Guandulitos, El Factor. The project, which faced several months of delays, includes the installation of new bathrooms, a septic system, a perimeter fence, and the completion of the kitchen and dining area. Authorities expect the interventions to be finished by October.

In Chile, the Escuela Concentración Fronteriza de Tulahuén has officially begun the construction of contingency infrastructure after a 17-year wait. The project originally stalled in 2009 due to the bankruptcy of the initial construction company. Local authorities, including Monte Patria Mayor Cristian Herrera Peña and Coquimbo Regional Governor Cristóbal Juliá de la Vega, noted the long period of uncertainty for the community. The works are scheduled for completion by April 2027.
