School of Byzantine and Traditional Music of Agrinio opens enrollments

The School of Byzantine and Traditional Music of Agrinio, ‘David the Psalmist’, under the Holy Metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania, has announced the commencement of enrollments for the 2026-2027 academic year. New students can register from September 1 to September 30 at the school's secretariat located at 2 Agias Triados.

The curriculum includes Byzantine ecclesiastical music, music theory, and instruction in various traditional instruments such as the oud, tambouras, lute, violin, lyra, clarinet, and various traditional percussion and wind instruments. The school also offers courses in hymnology, the history of Byzantine music, and liturgical reading.

As a state-recognized institution, the school follows a curriculum approved by the Ministry of Culture and provides degrees and diplomas upon examination. For 32 years, the school has operated branches in several locations, including Amfilochia, Thermo, Pantanassa, Painaiolio, Kainourgio, and Mataranga.
