School Parades Mark Independence Anniversaries in Peru, Bolivia
In Nuevo Chimbote, Peru, hundreds of primary and secondary students marched along Avenida Pacífico for the 205th anniversary of Peru’s independence. The district’s Education and Culture Sub‑Management organized the event, and a jury awarded top places to schools such as the Universidad Nacional del Santa’s experimental institute, which won first prize in the primary category, and Fe y Alegría N.º 14, which took the senior prize.
Meanwhile in Oruro, Bolivia, the District Directorate of Education announced that only the sixth‑year secondary (bachiller) students will participate in the independence parade on 5 August, marking the 201st anniversary. The decision, explained by director Raúl Villca and based on Ministerial Resolution 01/2026, suspends parades for kindergarten, primary and lower secondary levels, directing those schools to hold internal civic activities instead.
