School year 2026-2027 schedules announced for Cyprus and Greece

Guidelines and schedules have been released for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, detailing the return dates for educators and students in primary and secondary education.

In Cyprus, teachers for primary, nursery, and special schools are scheduled to return on September 7, 2026, to prepare for the start of classes on September 14, 2026. For secondary education, lessons are set to begin on the fifth working day following September 1st. The academic year is structured into two four-month terms, with the first term for lyceum students concluding in mid-December.

In Greece, teachers are expected to return to their units on September 1, 2026, to handle administrative tasks such as staff meetings, schedule formation, and classroom preparation. Students in primary, middle, and high schools are scheduled to return to classrooms on September 11, 2026, which will include the distribution of textbooks and the start of the academic program.
