School service delays and closures reported in Italian municipalities

In San Giorgio a Cremano, the municipal administration has postponed the start of the school canteen service once again. Originally scheduled to begin on October 19, the date was moved to October 26, and has now been delayed further to October 28. The administration cited challenges regarding transport strikes, fuel costs, and the procurement of fresh products as reasons for the delay. This follows a procurement process for a contract valued at over 2.4 million euros that was only finalized after the school year had already commenced.

Separately, in Taggia, Mayor Mario Conio has issued an ordinance to close the Soleri primary school on Monday, October 26. The closure is a precautionary measure following reports from teaching staff regarding unusual noises on the second floor of the building. Specialized technicians will conduct structural and technical inspections while the building is empty. Preliminary inspections by the Public Works Office and engineers have not yet indicated any immediate structural concerns.
