School sports initiatives launched in Krosno and Piekoszów

Various school sports initiatives are underway in Poland. In Krosno, the Individual Athletics Championships of the School Sports Association were held at the stadium on Bursaki Street. Fifth and sixth-grade students competed in several disciplines, including the 60m and 600m sprints, 1000m run, long jump, high jump, and palant ball throwing. These competitions serve as qualifiers for the provincial championships scheduled for September 23 in Stalowa Wola.

In the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, schools from Piekoszów and Micigozdz have qualified for the ‘Gramy w Ręczną’ (We Play Handball) national program. Supported by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and ORLEN S.A., the initiative provides free handball training for students in grades I–III. The program includes weekly two-hour sessions led by physical education teachers and provides sports equipment to the participating schools. The goal is to develop coordination and technical skills among young children, with future plans to expand training to older students.
