Schools across Japan resume classes for second semester

Elementary and junior high schools across various regions in Japan have begun their second semester following the summer break.

In Aomori Prefecture, approximately 182 out of 381 public schools resumed classes on August 24. At Obano Elementary School in Aomori City, students returned to school after a month-long break, with principals encouraging students to establish healthy daily rhythms.

In Obihiro, schools and compulsory education schools held opening ceremonies on August 25. Students shared summer memories and presented research projects during the transition back to the classroom.

In Ehime Prefecture, Onogahara Elementary School, located at an altitude of 1,200 meters, began its second semester on August 25. Due to the severe winter climate in the area, the school operates on a schedule with a shorter summer vacation and a longer winter break to accommodate the seasonal conditions.
