Schools in Chile and Argentina targeted by major thefts

Educational institutions in Chile and Argentina have been targeted by significant thefts. In Maipú, Chile, the Liceo Polivalente El Llano suffered a major robbery where criminals stole approximately 20 computers, projectors, a robotic arm, and various technical tools. Preliminary estimates place the losses between 70 and 80 million pesos. The thieves reportedly gained access to administrative offices to secure master keys, allowing them to loot classrooms, workshops, and the library. Students have marched to the SLEP Santa Corina offices to demand responses.

In Santa Fe, Argentina, the Jardín Padre Quiroga and its associated primary and secondary school levels have been hit by five separate robberies within a two-week period. The incidents involved significant property damage, including burned electrical wiring and intimidating messages left on classroom boards. Due to the security concerns and necessary repairs, secondary school classes have been suspended. The local educational community has expressed deep concern regarding the vulnerability of these institutions.
