Magalona Elementary School in Negros Occidental were suspended on Tuesday, September 22, following an alleged shooting threat posted on Facebook. The threat, made by an unidentified individual, spread through social media and group chats, prompting immediate action from local authorities.

Mayor Matthew Malacon ordered the suspension as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff. Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region Director PBGen Rudecindo Reales stated the report is being treated seriously, with increased police visibility around school premises.

The E. B. Magalona Municipal Police Station is coordinating with the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit to trace the account responsible and secure electronic evidence. While authorities noted the incident could potentially be a prank, they continue to investigate the source of the post. No actual shooting has been reported.
