Schools in Lima Sur to resume classes after rain damage
In-person classes are set to resume this Monday, August 24, in schools located in Villa El Salvador, Villa María del Triunfo, and San Juan de Miraflores following recent heavy rains.
Education Minister José Antonio Chang Escobedo supervised rehabilitation efforts, including the delivery of educational materials and technological equipment. At the Juan Pablo II school, which serves over 300 primary and preschool students, 25 new computers with wireless internet were installed to replace equipment damaged or rendered obsolete by the rainfall.
The recovery of these facilities was made possible through a coordinated effort involving parents, teachers, school directors, and members of the Armed Forces. Additionally, fumigation efforts were completed at the Miguel Grau and Mariscal Eloy Ureta schools to ensure student and staff safety.
