The new school year has commenced for Hungarian-language students in Hungary and Romania, marked by various cultural and educational initiatives.

In Romania, the Iskola Alapítvány is launching an after-school program supported by the Hungarian government. This initiative will provide afternoon education, homework assistance, and skill development for approximately 3,500 students across 73 schools in 13 counties, including Arad, Brașov, and Cluj, as well as Bucharest. The program aims to strengthen mother-tongue education and support Hungarian community identity.

In Târgu Mureș, the Turóczi Mózes Primary School welcomed 52 preparatory students with bilingual ceremonies and traditional celebrations. Similarly, in Satu Mare, the Rákóczi Association provided gift schoolbags to 25 preparatory students at the Reformed Gymnasium to support their start in Hungarian-language education.

In Hungary, the Benkarium event at the Várkert introduced kindergarten and first-grade students to Hungarian folk culture through traditional costumes and dance, fostering a sense of community through shared heritage.
