Schools in San Marino and Cagliari implement air conditioning measures

In San Marino, over 1,018 parents have signed a petition requesting the installation of air conditioning in schools. Secretary of State for Education Teodoro Lonfernini stated that the request is under review by the State Congress. Lonfernini noted that solutions will be implemented gradually due to the high number of school buildings, with an initial focus on facilities used for summer centers. Officials are working to provide responses before the next summer season.

In Cagliari, Italy, a contract has been signed between the municipality and a company to install air conditioning in 31 schools, including nursery, elementary, and middle schools. The two-year project includes the installation of photovoltaic panels and lighting designed to reduce heat and energy consumption. Education Councilor Giulia Andreozzi explained that the plan, funded by approximately five million euros, also involves replacing boilers to move away from fuel oil. Work will be carried out in blocks of eight to nine schools to avoid interrupting lessons, with priority given to twenty nursery schools.
