UK schools report strong 2026 GCSE academic results
Various schools across the United Kingdom are reporting strong GCSE results for the 2026 academic year.
Leighton Park reported that 56% of grades were at the 9-7 level, significantly higher than the national average of 23%. Similarly, Sutton Valence School saw over half of its grades awarded at levels 9, 8, or 7. Rockport School, a non-selective institution, noted that 81.2% of grades were at A*–C (9–4) and 30.8% were at the top A*–A (9–7) level.
Other notable performances include Fairfield High School for Girls, which saw 98 Grade 9 results, and Ulidia Integrated College, where one in five grades reached the A* to A level. Horsforth School reported that 41% of grades were at grade 7 or above, while Falmouth School saw 30% of grades at the 7-9 level. At King Edward VI Community College (KEVICC), students celebrated high-band grades alongside the opening of a new specialist SEND unit for students with autism.
