Schwalbe to launch 32-inch gravel tires in 2027

German tire manufacturer Schwalbe has announced the expansion of its gravel tire lineup to include 32-inch diameters. The new G-ONE RS PRO and G-ONE RX PRO models will be available in 50 mm and 55 mm widths, with an ETRTO diameter of 686 mm.

Scheduled for commercial release in April 2027, the tires will also be available for the aftermarket alongside dedicated inner tubes. The move follows successful prototype testing, including use by Robin Gemperle during the Unbound XL race.

Schwalbe executives noted that the shift toward larger diameters is driven by a growing industry trend. The 32-inch format is expected to offer increased stability, traction, and comfort on irregular terrain due to the higher air volume. This development aligns with the anticipated market entry of gravel bicycles specifically designed around 32-inch wheels, expected as early as autumn 2026.
