Schwandorf Labor Court allows works council election at F.EE

The Schwandorf Chamber of the Weiden Labor Court has ruled in favor of employees at F.EE, an industrial technology specialist based in Neunburg vorm Wald, regarding the establishment of a works council. The court decision allows a five-member election committee, appointed by workers, to officially begin preparations for a works council election.

The dispute has been ongoing since the beginning of the year, with a group of employees supported by IG Metall campaigning for representation at the company, which employs approximately 1,100 people. A previous attempt to hold a meeting in May resulted in a heated confrontation where 54 percent of attendees voted against the formation of a council; however, initiators alleged procedural errors during that process.

While the ruling permits the election committee to perform essential tasks—such as creating voter lists and issuing election notices—the decision is not yet legally binding. F.EE retains the right to appeal the ruling to the Regional Labor Court in Nuremberg after receiving a written justification for the decision.
