The Schwarz Group announced that its Lidl and Kaufland chains added 300 new retail outlets during the 2025/26 financial year, bringing the total network to about 14,500 stores across 33 countries. Group revenue rose 5.8% to €185.6 billion, with Lidl contributing roughly €140 billion (up 6.1%) and Kaufland €36.7 billion (up 4.3%). Online sales remained flat at €1.7 billion.
Investments reached €9 billion, creating around 9,000 jobs globally, including 5,000 in Germany, and lifting total employment to roughly 604,000 people. The group’s digital arm, Schwarz Digits, generated €2.2 billion, driven by growing demand for cloud services, and is expanding its infrastructure with a multi‑billion‑euro data centre in Brandenburg. The expansion underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its core market presence and digital capabilities while contributing to the German economy.
