Schwarz Group's Milbona brand utilizes various European dairy producers

Milbona, the primary dairy private label for the retailer Lidl, is owned by the Schwarz Group, a family-owned company based in Neckarsulm that also operates Kaufland and PreZero. While the brand is available in over 30 countries, it does not operate its own dedicated dairy factories.

Instead, production is outsourced to various local dairies across Europe. Depending on the specific product, manufacturers may include Arla, DMK, Müller, or Ammerland. For example, Milbona organic butter has been linked to Arla, while certain fresh milks have been attributed to DMK. Because Lidl can reassign contracts at any time, the specific manufacturers for these products may change.

Consumers can identify the actual producer by checking the oval identification mark on animal-based food packaging, which includes the country code, state, and the facility's approval number.
