Schwarz Mansion to host performance of Riga Feraios's work

As part of the UNDER30 Festival, a cultural event aimed at engaging the Thessaly region, a performance of excerpts from Riga Feraios’s work, ‘School of Delicate Lovers’, will take place at the Schwarz Mansion in Ambelakia on August 30 at 19:00. The event is organized in collaboration with the Larissa Ephorate of Antiquities.

The performance will feature actors Marcela Lena and Thanasis Zervas, accompanied by musician Alexandros Tsiona. The work being presented, originally published in Vienna in 1790, consists of six erotic novellas translated by Riga Feraios from the French collection ‘Les Contemporaines’ by Retif de la Bretonne. Feraios adapted the stories with his own additions and songs to make them more accessible to the Greek public. While the book was popular, it faced criticism from conservative circles at the time, leading Feraios to subtitle it ‘An Ethical Book’ to suggest the stories led toward marriage.
