Schwerte vending‑machine break‑ins steal cash in July 2026 FAST-MOVING
In the night of 23–24 July 2026 unknown perpetrators forced open two food‑vending machines in Schwerte, stealing cash from each. One break‑in occurred at a machine on Zum Wellenbad street, the other at a machine on Thüner Wiese in Ergste. The amount taken and the damage caused were not disclosed.
Police say the incidents are part of a series of vending‑machine break‑ins this month. Earlier, on the night of 21 July, a machine on Letmather Straße in Ergste was also breached, and at the start of July a machine at the Hörder Straße/Talweg intersection was targeted, with repair costs estimated in the four‑digit range. Authorities are seeking witnesses and have opened investigations into the recent break‑ins.
