SCI2000 selected as European model for social innovation
The SCI2000 project, titled ‘Provision of integrated services in rural communities’, has been selected as an ‘outstanding project’ and will be presented as a European model at the Social Innovation Forum 2026. Coordinated by the Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection, the initiative focuses on reorganizing existing public services to work collaboratively.
Rather than creating new services, the model ensures that social assistance, health, and education specialists work together directly within communities. This approach aims to bring support to rural residents in need, preventing them from having to navigate multiple separate institutions. The project targets the development of integrated services across 2,000 rural communities, aiming to support approximately 450,000 vulnerable individuals through interventions such as providing healthy meals, school supplies, improving housing conditions, and facilitating access to medical and educational services.
