Sciacca hospital appoints Dr. Ignazio Galizia as interim head of Internal Medicine

The ASP of Agrigento has appointed Dr. Ignazio Galizia as the interim acting head of the Internal Medicine unit at the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Sciacca. This decision, made by extraordinary commissioner Alessandro Delle Donne, follows the end of Dr. Loriano Malfa’s term due to national collective labor contract limits.

The appointment is temporary and intended to ensure continuity of care and service organization while selection procedures for a permanent director are finalized. The ASP is currently coordinating with the University of Palermo to establish a university-led management model for the facility, as per a decree issued in March 2024.
