Sciacca Municipality announces 2027 Carnival float selection

The Municipality of Sciacca has released the official call for applications for the selection and creation of allegorical floats for the 2027 Sciacca Carnival. The event is scheduled to take place on February 6, 7, 9, 13, and 14, 2027.

The municipality will select eight competing floats, in addition to the non-competing “Peppe Nappa” float. Participation is restricted to third-sector entities that are legally established, registered with the Runts, and headquartered within the territory of Sciacca. Each entity is permitted to submit only one application for a single float.

Applications must be submitted to the general protocol of the Municipality of Sciacca by 2:00 PM on October 19, 2026. A selection committee of three experts will evaluate submissions based on the float sketch (up to 50 points), the allegory (up to 30 points), and costume sketches (up to 20 points). For competing floats, a minimum score of 60 out of 100 is required. The maximum expense reimbursement for each of the eight competing floats is 31,000 euros, payable in three installments.
