Sciacca officials address legal disputes over thermal baths management

Local officials and civic representatives in Sciacca are meeting to discuss the uncertain future of the city's thermal baths. The project involves a European tender aimed at reopening the facilities through a 99-year private management contract. Currently, the process is facing legal challenges after the Massinelli Group filed an appeal with the Tar Sicilia to annul the decision regarding the expression of interest, which favored Terme di Saturnia Spa.

Concerns have been raised regarding potential delays caused by this litigation. In response to recent discussions between the administration, councilors, and the Patrimonio Termale civic committee, five city councilors have requested an urgent, open session of the City Council. The goal is to clarify procedures, timelines, and regional decisions to establish a unified political position for the recovery and protection of the thermal complex and the San Calogero stoves.
