Sciacca Turismo criticizes improvised hospitality and water issues

The association Sciacca Turismo has issued a formal complaint regarding the management of tourism in Sciacca, Italy. Ezio Bono, president of the association, criticized the rise of improvised hospitality providers who operate in residential properties not designed for tourism.

Bono highlighted that these unregulated hosts often lack the necessary infrastructure to handle essential services, specifically noting that inadequate water reserves and crumbling city pipelines create significant issues for guests. The association argues that allowing individuals to convert homes into B&Bs without professional planning and proper utility capacity damages the city's reputation and undermines professional tourism entrepreneurs.
