Science and education festivals scheduled in Córdoba and La Plata

Two science and education festivals are scheduled to take place in Argentina to promote scientific production and defend public education.

In Córdoba, the second edition of CONIFest 2026 will be held on October 22 at the Museo Metropolitano de Arte Urbano (MMAU). Organized by the Asamblea Conicet Córdoba and the Centro Científico Tecnológico Córdoba, the event features scientific stands, live music, and interactive experiments. Highlights include a marine expedition presentation from the Mar del Plata Canyon and demonstrations involving lithium batteries made from recycled biomaterials.

In La Plata, the IV Festival in Defense of Sovereign Science and Public Education will take place on October 24 at Plaza and the Centro Cultural Islas Malvinas. Coordinated by the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), the festival aims to highlight the value of local scientific work while expressing concern regarding the defunding of public universities and the national scientific and technological system. The event will feature dozens of stands showcasing regional research, teaching, and cultural activities.
