Science festivals promote technology and discovery in Lublin and Nowy Sącz

Various science festivals and educational events have taken place across Poland, focusing on the popularization of science through interactive demonstrations and workshops.

In Lublin, the Department of Informatics at the Lublin University of Technology participated in the 22nd Lublin Science Festival. The department presented projects involving artificial intelligence, modern programming, electronics, and 3D printing. Highlights included an interactive board game titled ‘Architectural Gems of Lublin’ which used 3D models of Old Town monuments, and augmented reality displays that allowed users to manipulate landscapes in real-time using hand movements.

In Nowy Sącz, the 20th Małopolska Night of Scientists was held at the WSB-NLU campus. The anniversary event featured experiments with liquid nitrogen, virtual reality, robotics, and forensics. Demonstrations included ‘Magic vs Science’ to explore the laws of physics and the ‘Fluo Laboratory’ to study the properties of light. The event attracted large crowds of families and students, offering various scientific challenges in different campus locations.
