Science Night 2026 to open Czech laboratories and universities to the public

Science Night will take place on Friday, September 25, 2026, across the Czech Republic, opening the doors of laboratories, universities, and scientific institutes to the general public. Now in its 21st year, the annual event aims to popularize science and technology by transforming research facilities into interactive spaces where visitors can experience scientific concepts firsthand.

The theme for this year is ‘Communication,’ focusing on how various entities—including plants, machines, and humans—interact. Participating institutions include the Czech Academy of Sciences, various science centers, observatories, and planetariums.

At the Czech Technical University (CTU) Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Prague, visitors can explore student projects such as the eForce Prague Formula racing team, CTU Robotics, which develops autonomous lunar rovers, and CTU Space Research, featuring the modular Illustria rocket. Other featured groups include CTU AeroLab, focusing on unmanned aircraft, and CTU CargoSwift, which works on drone technology.
