Sciences Po eyeing Brussels campus as Italian scholars earn EU Parliament internships

The French university Sciences Po is assessing the creation of a Brussels campus dedicated to European studies and the training of future EU officials, according to an internal report. The proposal, titled “Maison de l’Europe de Sciences Po, Paris‑Bruxelles,” aims to fill a gap in elite academic offerings in the European capital and compete with institutions such as the College of Europe in Bruges and the London School of Economics.

Separately, three Italian graduates—two from the University of Salento and one from the University of Calabria—have been awarded the Baldassarre prize scholarships, granting them paid internships at the European Parliament in Brussels. The programme, supported by the European Parliament’s REGI commission, is intended to strengthen links between southern Italy and European institutions. One organizer said, “Creiamo un collegamento stabile tra il sud e l’Europa.”
