Scientific and nature events scheduled in Italy

Various scientific and nature-focused public events are scheduled in Italy.

In Ficuzza, a nature excursion is planned for October 3, 2026. Starting from the Real Casina di Caccia di Ficuzza, participants will hike through the Bosco di Ficuzza Nature Reserve, following historical paths near the old railway to reach the Pulpito del Re. The event will combine history and ecology with astronomy, featuring safe solar observations using specialized telescopes to view sunspots and the solar chromosphere.

Additionally, the European Gravitational Observatory (EGO) in Cascina will host an open day on September 18 and 19, 2026. The event includes guided tours of the Virgo experiment, interactive laboratories regarding gravitational waves and ultra-high vacuum technology, and a special program for children. The schedule features afternoon visits, an evening tour with a cosmic-themed DJ set, and educational activities designed to spark interest in cosmic phenomena.
