Mato Grosso do Sul Police deliver national IDs to residents with disabilities

The Scientific Police of Mato Grosso do Sul provided mobile identification services to nine residents of the Casa Lar Lions, an inclusive residence in Campo Grande. This initiative allowed individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities, including those with level 3 autism spectrum disorder, to obtain their new National Identity Card (CIN) without leaving their home.

Providing services directly at the institution addressed significant logistical barriers, such as the need for specialized transport, individual accompaniment, and the mobilization of staff to manage complex care routines. The coordinator of Casa Lar Lions, Daiane Pereira, noted that identification procedures for residents with high support needs often require significantly more time than the standard 15-minute appointment.
