Scientific studies link chronic infections and age 50 to accelerated aging

Recent scientific research has identified key factors and timelines regarding the acceleration of biological aging. Researchers from the Spanish National Research Service (ISCIII) have found that chronic viral infections can keep the immune system in a state of persistent alert, promoting inflammation and accelerating cellular aging even when the infection is under control.

Complementary research from the Chinese Academy of Sciences has identified a significant inflection point in human aging. By analyzing proteomic changes across various tissues, scientists determined that the deterioration of organ function tends to accelerate around the age of 50. The study noted that blood vessels are particularly susceptible to this premature aging process.
