Scirubetta Festival returns to Reggio Calabria with international masters

The Scirubetta Festival of Artisanal Gelato is returning to Reggio Calabria for its fifth edition in 2026. Following a previous edition that drew over 100,000 visitors, the event is expanding its international presence by hosting 34 master gelatiers from seven different countries.

The festival will feature tastings, workshops, and professional training sessions. A highlight of the program is a collaborative show cooking session between chef Filippo Cogliandro and master gelatier Alberto Vitaro. Their demonstration aims to bridge the gap between traditional desserts and contemporary high cuisine by using gelato as a savory culinary element. One featured dish includes cuttlefish tagliatelle with avocado cream and cucumber gelato infused with wild oregano.
