FCSB defeats FC Botoșani 3-2 to take SuperLiga lead

FCSB secured a dramatic 3-2 victory against FC Botoșani at the Arcul de Triumf stadium, moving to the top of the SuperLiga standings after five rounds. Joao Paulo opened the scoring for FCSB in the 10th minute, but FC Botoșani responded through Andrei Dumiter, who scored in the 36th minute following an error by Joyskim Dawa. Dumiter also scored again in the 62nd minute to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.

Daniel Bîrligea proved to be the hero for FCSB, scoring twice to overturn the deficit. He equalized in the 64th minute and then netted the winning goal in the 90+6 minute following an assist from Octavian Popescu.

Following the match, Bîrligea expressed significant frustration toward fans who had directed verbal abuse toward his family. He urged supporters to provide help to the team rather than insults, stating, “If you are not supporters, stay on the couch.” FC Botoșani coach Marius Croitoru commented on the match, noting the high quality of play while also critiquing FCSB's tactical shift to a three-defender system.
