Scoarța opens new independent living center for Gorj beneficiaries

In the commune of Scoarța, Gorj County, a new Independent Living Preparation Center has been established to support ten beneficiaries of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Gorj. Funded by the Gorj County Council, the facility was built from the ground up to provide a modern social service that moves away from traditional institutional models toward a focus on individual autonomy and dignity.

The center aims to provide residents with the necessary skills for daily life, helping them gain independence and confidence. Local officials, including Gorj County Council President Cosmin Popescu and Vice-President Anca Bordușanu, emphasized that the investment is intended to offer more than just housing, focusing instead on providing the support required for beneficiaries to lead better, more self-sufficient lives.
