Scolacium Archaeological Park hosts Armonie d’Arte Festival finale
The Armonie d’Arte Festival concluded with the production ‘Nacque al mondo un sole – XI Canto’ at the Scolacium Archaeological Park in Borgia. Directed by Chiara Giordano, the performance was created to commemorate the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi.
The production integrated the spirituality of Saint Francis with the poetry of Dante Alighieri and the musical universe of Franco Battiato. Actor Sergio Assisi performed verses from the XI Canto of Paradise and the Canticle of the Creatures, alongside spiritual interpretations of Battiato’s works, including ‘La cura’.
Musical accompaniment was provided by Maestro Francesco Costa leading the Ensemble e Coro Lirico Siciliano. The performance featured compositions by Vincenzo Palermo and Francesco Perri, as well as works by Riz Ortolani and Battiato, concluding with a standing ovation from the audience.
