Scope analysis identifies 154 funds with long-term top ratings
An analysis by the European rating agency Scope reveals that 154 actively managed funds have maintained a top rating of A (very good) or B (good) for at least five consecutive years. Among these, 23 funds have sustained their top ratings for over a decade, with the most consistent performer holding its top rating for more than 15 years.
The study evaluated approximately 7,000 funds available to private investors in Germany, excluding passive products to focus on active management performance. The identified funds manage assets ranging from €21.6 million to €24.7 billion, with five-year annualized returns varying between -2.1% and 16.0%. High concentrations of long-term top-rated funds were found in global flexible mixed funds, global equity funds, and dynamic global mixed funds.
In a separate context regarding investment strategies, a five-point approach is suggested for investors seeking to outperform the market. This method involves investing in funds that hold a five-point rating from Stiftung Warentest and selling them immediately if their rating declines, using top-tier ETFs as a fallback option when no five-point funds are available.
