Scopoli begins demolition of post-earthquake prefabricated buildings
Demolition operations are underway in Scopoli to remove five prefabricated buildings that were originally constructed following the 1997 earthquake. These structures, which had fallen into a state of decay, are being cleared to secure the area and return usable space to the local community.
The buildings are located on land belonging to the Curia and managed by the Comunanza agraria di Scopoli. During the demolition process, special care was taken to preserve artistic heritage; frescoed panels from the ‘Borgo degli artisti’ project were salvaged and will be placed under the custody of the Diocese of Foligno-Spello.
Regional Infrastructure Councilor Francesco De Rebotti stated that the intervention was a direct response to requests from local residents made during public meetings. The project aims to eliminate dilapidated structures and facilitate the redevelopment of the area.
