Scotch whisky collaborations unveil limited-edition releases

The Balvenie announced a partnership with American artist Daniel Arsham, creating “The Dawn of Our Spirit” series that interprets the distillery’s five core craft elements – barley cultivation, cooperage, traditional floor malting, copper still making and cellar‑master intuition – through artworks, immersive experiences and limited-edition bottlings. The collaboration highlights the distillery’s historic floor‑malting house operating since 1931 and explores themes of time, transmission, rarity and materiality.

Ardnamurchan released a 2026 limited-edition single malt made in collaboration with Champagne bottler Paul Launois. Distilled in 2017, the unpeated whisky spent nearly nine years maturing before a finishing period in Launois’s Champagne barriques and is blended with a small portion of bourbon‑cask whisky. Bottled at 57.4% ABV, it offers fresh aromas of red apples, white grapes, caramel and honey, with palate notes of white chocolate, citrus, sea‑salt minerality and a lingering oak finish. The edition is non‑chill‑filtered and expected to sell quickly.
