Scotiabank marks 70 years of operations in The Bahamas and Barbados
Scotiabank is marking 70 years of operations in both The Bahamas and Barbados through a series of high-level engagements with government and business leaders.
In The Bahamas, a delegation led by Jabar Singh, President of Scotiabank Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, met with officials including Minister of Finance Michael B. Halkitis and Minister of Economic Affairs Jerome Fitzgerald. The discussions focused on investment, economic resilience, and strengthening public-private sector collaboration to support the country’s long-term growth.
In Barbados, the bank celebrated its 70th anniversary with meetings involving Prime Minister Mia Mottley and Minister of Finance Ryan Straughn. The anniversary included a commemorative event at the Bridgetown branch and a gala to recognize long-standing clients and employees. As part of the celebrations, Scotiabank provided $70,000 donations each to the organizations ‘I Am A Girl’ and ‘Walkers Institute’.
